Fan the Flame Date Nites - New Castle, PA

Our second Fan the Flame Date Nite was held at Vinny's restaurant in Ellwood City, PA with 26 couples in attendance. We enjoyed fellowship over chicken, meatballs and pasta!

We played a short mixer game struggling to complete a "18-carrot Love Letter" using various fruits and veggies to fill in the blanks. Bruce reviewed our overall theme of spelling out the word DEPOSITS and quickly reminded us of last month's emphasis on D - Determining Your Spouses Currency (love languages). Our topic this evening was on E - Encouragement. The slides from that presentation can be viewed below.

Bruce used Ephesians 4:29 as well as other scripture texts to highlight this important deposit into the emotional banks of our spouses. The table talk included questions like: How can we be a cheerleader for our spouse? How are expectations linked to encouragement? How can we change our E-type? (our e-type is the method by which we will encourage each other.) Couples then spent some “knee to knee nose to nose” time and talked more specifically about areas where they could give each other more encouragement and hope.

Bruce then challenged us with a 30-day challenge to go through the next 30 days without saying anything negative about our spouses, but find ways to appreciate them more and help them feel encouraged.
