Fan the Flame Date Nite - November 9, 2006
Our second Fan the Flame in New Castle was held on November 9th at Gallo’s Villa. 15 couples enjoyed a very fine buffet of salad, bread, chicken, meatballs, pasta, potatoes, green beans and some good cheesecake for dessert. No one left hungry! We had our first engaged couple in attendance. Thanks for coming “J-rod” and Stefanie!
We presented the “P” of making DEPOSITS into our spouse’s emotional banks – Promises. Marriage is built on commitment, not just love, and keeping our promises, our marriage vows, is vital to the success and security of our marriage. Bruce used the example of Hosea and Gomer to illustrate God’s unconditional love and to teach the difference between contractual love and covenant love.
Couples enjoyed the table discussion and knee-to-knee, nose-to-nose time to draw applications for their relationships.
Our next Fan the Flame will be on February 15th and will be our “Sweetheart Banquet” make plans now to attend now and be sure to open it up to the couples at your church.
