Welcome to House on the Rock Family Ministries

What are "Fan
the Flame Date Nites?"
Fan the Flame Date Nites are designed to provide married or engaged couples
with a fun, yet meaningful night out. Each Date Nite consists of some
good food, fun and a challenge to work on at least one area of your relationship
as a couple. You and your partner will have some time to talk together
about the topic of the evening. That’s why we call them Fan the
Flame Date Nites. We’re trying to help you “fan the flame”
in your relationship.
House on the Rock Family Ministries produces Fan the Flame Date Nites.

Sponsor
a Date Nite
Our goal is to keep these Date Nites affordable. Our ticket
prices cover the actual cost of the meal and facility. Our corporate or
individual sponsors cover all of the other program costs. If you are interested
in supporting this ministry please contact House on the Rock Family Ministries
at 717.492.9500, or by e-mail, and
we'll be happy to send you a packet of information.
Become a Fan the Flame "Champion"
Our goal is to help local churches strengthen their marriages.
We believe these FTF Date Nites are a great way for churches to begin
a marriage enrichment ministry. So we want to see churches bring groups
of couples to Fan the Flame Date Nites.
We also know that pastors are too busy to promote and register couples every month. So, if you have a desire to help grow the families in your church we invite you to become the Fan the Flame Champion in your church.
Being a “Champion” means promoting these events to your couples
and registering those who want to come. Champions will work directly with
House on the Rock. If interested please contact us at 717.492.9500 or
at info@hotrfm.org

FAQ's
What time do you start and finish?
Typically we begin registration at 6:30pm with either the meal, or the
dessert beginning promptly at 7:00pm. We finish up the evening at 9:00pm.
What do we wear to a Fan the Flame Date Nite?
Hopefully clothes! Business casual is the usual attire. According to
Monster.com “business casual means a tie isn’t necessary.
Khakis with collared shirts are popular for men. For women, it’s
a dress, skirt or slacks with a blouse and flat heals.” But hey
if you want to dress up a little that is great. It will give the night
even more class! We always have a few couples who dress up. The platform
people from House on the Rock will be “dressed up” for the
evening.
Do I have to talk in front of other people?
You will usually be sitting at a table with some other guests. We do try to get those couple interacting a little bit. These questions are non-threatening. We also have a short “knee to knee, nose to nose” time where you and your spouse get to chat together.
Can I bring a non-church couple along?
Please do! Although we base our material on the Word of God, we seek to present it in a non-offensive way. It is our desire that couples see that the Bible has relevant application to today’s relationships.
I am on a special diet … can I change the menu?
We will do our best to work with you. Please realize that we are at the mercy of our host facilities. Contact our office and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Can we come even though we missed some?
YES! each of our Fan the Fame Date Nites is a stand-alone event. Our theme for this year does overview eight “DEPOSITS” that all relate to each other … they do not build on each other. Besides you can always pick up some of the missed material here on the website.
Do you provide childcare?
Sorry we don’t. But here’s an idea why not ask a member of your youth group to watch your kid(s) and make a contribution towards one of their activities or trips?
