Fan the Flame - May 19, 2005 - Cameron Estate Inn, Mount Joy, PA

Our inaugural Fan the Flame Date Nite was held on May 19th at the Cameron Estate Inn. We had 46 couples there to enjoy a fantastic dessert buffet. Kapp and Linda presented a mini drama illustrating the importance of dating your spouse. Bruce cast the vision for House on the Rock’s Fan the Flame Date Nites: “It is a ‘plug and play’ marriage enrichment program for local churches.”

Bruce overviewed the 8 topics of this season’s Date Nites. We all have emotional banks into which we either make deposits or withdrawals. The big idea is to put more deposits into our partner’s “love bank” than withdrawals. The eight “DEPOSITS” to be covered this season are: Determining your Currency (love language), Encouragement, Promises Kept, Oneness, Spending Time, Integrity, Touch, and Spiritual Nurturing.

House on the Rock will offer a variety of resources that couples can purchase at these events to help them build on the theme of each evening. The overall idea of the “Love Bank” comes from Hurley’s book entitled His Needs, Her Needs.
