Fan the Flame – September 22, 2005 - Cameron Estate Inn, Mount Joy, PA

Our second Fan the Flame Date Nite was held on September 22nd at the Cameron Estate Inn. 38 couples gathered to enjoy some great desserts and fun times around their tables. They struggled to match the words “I Love You” in 25 foreign languages. Our topic for the evening was Determining Your Spouse’s Currency. How do we speak and understand love? This was the first of 8 “DEPOSITS” that we are seeking to make into our spouses' emotional banks.

Bruce presented the 8 Love Languages articulated by Judson Swihart: Meeting Material Needs, Helping, Spending Time Together, Meeting Emotional Needs, Saying it with Words, Touch, Being on the Same Side and Bringing out the Best. Couples were then asked to rate one another’s love languages. Things got interesting when we asked them to compare their ratings and talk about them!

Each couple left with “Piggy.” This piggy bank is a visual reminder for these couples to be making deposits into one another’s emotional bank until our next Fan the Flame Date Nite.
