George Barna suggests that the future of the American Church depends
greatly on the spiritual commitment of families. Charles Sell, family
ministry pioneer states: “When the church ministers to families
it ministers to itself.” As church leaders we all know that ministering
to families isn’t an option. We’ll either do it well …
or poorly! If we want to grow our churches we must strengthen our families!
Yet our church families are not statistically different than those of
the non-church families within our communities. Our church couples, parents,
and families are struggling. They need biblically based family life education,
support, and encouragement to succeed. You as a church leader need to
be equipped with the resources and training necessary to address the complexities
your church families.
Today's families are radically changing and will continue to do so in
the future. As those who serve and minister to families, we must continue
to equip ourselves to respond to the needs of single parents, stepfamilies,
empty nesters and the growing number of changing family scenarios.
To address this pressing need, House on the Rock Family Ministries, the
Association of Marriage and Family Ministries(AMFM), Family Resource and
Counseling Center, InStep Ministries and Lancaster Bible College and Graduate
School have joined together to present the first Family Ministry Conference
of Central Pennsylvania on Saturday
March 17th at LBC.
We have assembled a faculty of national and regional family ministry practitioners to lead over 40 workshops to help you become better equipped to meet these needs. Please take a few minutes to browse this website and then mark the date on your calendar and complete the online registration to join us on March 17th. (The cost of your registration includes lunch and 2 breakout times.)
