Fan the Flame Sweetheart Banquet - February 2008

On Thursday, February 7, 2008 85 couples joined us for our 3rd Annual Sweetheart Banquet in the spectacular Palm Court in Willow Valley. Our evening began with a fun song, an old show tune: “You’re not sick -- You’re just in love" performed by special guests Neil and Lois Feltham.
Throughout the evening couples could get their pictures taken by Kyra as well as sample the new House on the Rock Family Ministries’ Blend of gourmet coffee. Long stem roses for the ladies added to the romantic ambiance of the evening.
Kapp and Linda shared a scripture filled drama entitled “One Flesh.” Pastor Steve Cornell, the founding pastor of Millersville Bible Church, challenged us to follow the “5 Guidelines for a Good Marriage.” He reminded us that (1) couples are teammates not opponents. (2) Couples should value and respect each other. (3) We should acknowledge our selfishness. (4) Couples should not neglect their physical relationships. And, (5) couples should stay close to God. The couples enjoyed a time of table talk and then transitioned into the trademark “Knee to knee -- nose to nose” time.
Neil and Lois concluded our celebration with another old show tune: "Count Your Blessings." Bruce and Karen ended the night by leading the guests in a prayer of blessing on their marriages.
