Dear Friends,

It's All About Communication...

Hopefully by now, you have had the opportunity to get to know each other in a more meaningful way through the "Pebbles" in the last couple of months.  But don't stop just yet...  We have the last set of questions for you to unpack at your next date night.

For those of you just joining us, we have been looking at 4 ways to communicate with our spouses.  We feel that just as ski slopes progress from bunny hills to black diamonds, so conversation starters in marriage range from simple to sizzling. But with greater risk comes greater adventure.  If you are interested in getting any of the past issues of "Pebbles" let me know and I  will be happy to forward them on to you.  So hit the "slopes" with this last set of questions on your next date out and watch your relationship take off!

Level 5: For Experts Only

1.    What do you think prevents couples from becoming (or staying) best friends?

2.    Do you trust me? If not, why not? What can I do to help you trust me more?

3.    How can we affair-proof our marriage?

4.    Is there anything about life in general or our current circumstances that discourages or disappoints you?  What can I do to help turn that around?

5.    What are some ways I can help you reach your full potential?

6.    In what ways am I encouraging you in your spiritual walk with God? What else could I do?

7.    How can we improve our prayer life together? Individually?

8.    Do you think we're honoring God in the way we spend, give, and save our money? How could we do better?

9.    What things can we do to help our children grow in their faith?

10.  Do you ever feel I'm more "at one" with my job, the kids, or a hobby than I am with you?

11.  What makes you feel this way? How can I be more "at one" with you?

12.  Have I ever broken your heart? If so, when? How could I have handled that situation differently? What can I do to heal that situation?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dating your spouse can be a very valuable thing.  Far too often couples get caught up in the daily involvements of raising our kids and providing for our families, that we forget to take some time and date our mates.  A simple dinner and one-on-one conversation is very powerful towards building enrichment into your relationship.

If you are looking for a great date nite, why not plan on being with us on May 25, 2006 at the Acorn Farms in Mount Joy, PA from 6:30 - 9:00p.  This will be our last Fan the Flame Date Nite until the fall.  If you have never been to one of these date nites, click here for a money saving coupon.  (Just mention the coupon when registering.)  We hope to see you there!

Celebrating Families,

Dr. Bruce
