Dear Friends,
The Significance of Easter:
We spend months
getting ready for Christmas.
Buying gifts, decorating our homes, and planning festive family
gatherings all seem to capture more attention than any other of our
Christian holy days. That’s why
we’re reminded to keep Christ in Christmas!
Easter doesn’t
command as much of our attention.
Yet it is more important than Christmas. The real “reason for the season” is
what we commemorate over the Easter holy days of Palm Sunday, Good Friday
and Resurrection morning. Jesus
came to earth to be the one and only sacrifice for our sins. His resurrection proves His power over
sin’s hold on our lives and its consequence – death. If there were no death and resurrection
of Jesus there would be no Joy to the World!
Plan to focus your
family’s attention on the significance of Easter. Remember that the parents of Israel
were to tell the Passover story to their children every year. How God made a way for His people to
escape the bondage of Egypt
and lead them to the Promised Land.
Well, God sent His son at Christmas to be our Passover lamb, to
shed His blood so that we would be free from the bondage of sin and
death.
We’ve posted some
great ideas right on the first page of our website to help you with this
important task: www.hotrfm.org
Happy Easter!
