Fan the Flame Date Nite - April 27, 2006
April’s Fan The Flame was held in the beautiful banquet facility
of Shady Maple in East Earl, PA. It was our second visit
to this popular venue.
Forty-one couples enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner of roast Angus and
broasted chicken, fresh vegetables, salad bar, and cherry or blueberry
pie ala-mode.
Couples enjoyed a challenging table mixer built around the acrostic of
the word integrity. "Integrity" was our theme of the evening.
Relationships are built on honesty and integrity. Dr. Bruce presented
three reasons why couples lie to each other: fear, selfishness and pride.
Chris Hiestand shared a testimony regarding his needing to come clean
with the lord and his wife about things in his past. A movie clip from
“Shall we Dance” highlighted how
lying to a spouse can be just as traumatic as having an affair. We were
challenged to learn how to speak the truth to one another in love from
Ephesians 4:15.
Our Table discussion time asked couples what they believed the number
one reason for lying to each other is. Our knee-to-knee nose-to-nose time
centered on reasons why we may be afraid to tell one another the truth
and how we can temper our reactions to truth to help each other remain
truthful.
Kapp and Linda Brown ended our evening with a powerful drama illustrating
the need for couples to forgive each other.
We have some great pictures of the evening. Simply click on a picture
